Rescheduling of Major Events
The following are the steps to follow for rescheduling a Major Event at the Creative Arts Center:
- The faculty member in charge of the event consults with the division chair to discuss the program impact and the feasibility of moving the event to another date or time.
- The faculty and division chair consult with the Operations Office to determine the availability of a new date and time, and to discuss the impact on technical and labor support, as well as custodial support.
- The faculty and division chair consult the Box Office manager and publicity specialist to determine the impact on ticket sales (where applicable), house management, ushering, and publicity.
- The faculty and division chair consult the Dean’s Office to determine the impact of rescheduling if receptions or alumni activities are associated with the event.
- The faculty and division chair must inform the Dean’s Office, as well as the Operations Office, the Box Office, and the Publicity Office, as soon as they decide to reschedule the event.
- The appropriate supervisors of the areas concerned are responsible for informing their support staff of the change as soon as possible.
- If problems related to the schedule change cannot be resolved through the use of steps 1 through 4, the Dean will act as arbiter in making the final decision.A Major Event is any event that has any form of physical ticket (free or paid admission) associated with it. In general, this includes, but is not limited to, productions in the Concert Theatre, Davis Theatre, Falbo Theatre or Vivian Davis Michael Theatre, or an event in another venue performed by groups from the College of Creative Arts.
- A Major Event also is any event held in the Concert Theatre, ticketed or otherwise. This is due to the technical staff required for events in this hall.
