To allow us to properly plan for our 2009 May Commencement ceremony, we ask that graduates RSVP. Please complete the online form by Friday, April 10, 2009.
Academic Regalia
Academic Regalia is required to participate in the College of Creative Arts Commencement. Regalia may be purchased at the Downtown WVU Bookstore, these costs include tax.
Undergraduate cap, gown and tassel $44.50
Master cap, gown, hood and tassel $84.76

Organization of the Academic Procession
Please arrive promptly at 6:30 p.m. and report to the Gladys G. Davis Theatre, 1st floor, and you will be given instructions for the organization of the academic procession and ceremony.
Conferring of Degrees
Dean J. Bernard Schultz will confer degrees as each candidate walks across the stage. Please follow the direction of your Division Student Marshal when proceeding to the stage.
Recessional
When the ceremony has concluded the graduates will rise and exit simultaneously with the Platform Party and Faculty. When the stage is empty the guests may exit to the Douglas O. Blaney Lobby of the Creative Arts Center for a reception.
Reception
Following the conclusion of the Commencement Ceremony a reception will be held in the Douglas O. Blaney Lobby of the Creative Arts Center for graduates, their families, friends and faculty.
Families and Guests
Doors to the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre will be open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are not required for admission and seating is open, except where reserved for degree candidates. Guests should be in their seats before the academic procession begins sharply at 7:30p.m. Parking is available in front of the Creative Arts Center for families and guests of the degree candidates.
Photographs
Photographs will be taken by WVU Photographers. Families of graduates are welcome to take photographs during the ceremony.
WVU Commencement Honors Convocation
Friday, May 15, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., CAC, Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre. Audience seating is open to the public. Invitations to participate will be extended to Honors College Graduates, Foundation Outstanding Seniors, and additional outstanding graduates.
