The College of Creative Arts and the
West Virginia University Foundation
Chartered in 1954, the West Virginia University Foundation is an independent non-profit corporation devoted to the welfare and future development of West Virginia University and its affiliated organizations. The Foundation exists for the purpose of securing and administering private resources in support of academic programs, student scholarships, faculty development and public service initiatives at WVU. Donors, working with the Foundation, build a university greater than the state alone can build.
During the Foundation’s last Capital Campaign, The College of Creative Arts experienced great success in obtaining new funds to assist students in many ways including: scholarships; media and technology improvements; visiting artist opportunities; support for national and international travel for performances, research and conferences; and improved resources in the music library.
Despite an amazing number of alumni and supporters, our needs are definitely not met, and we must not stop here. We must build on the momentum generated by the Foundation’s Building Campaign. Funding is still needed in many crucial areas. For the College to be competitive, continued enhancements in technology are crucial. Private support is absolutely essential as we continue to face budgetary restraints and financial limitations.
